SYNOPSIS

In Vanishing Views, Ptolemy Dean paints the views of buildings that he thinks are national treasures and world known landmarks, but these period piece megastructures are under threat from new 'carbuncles', from the wrecking ball, from the weather and from coastal erosion.

Ptolemy suspends himself off builders' cranes, heads out to sea on lifeboats and perch on half-finished development sites to capture these extraordinary views for one last time. He draws up a detailed log of the building revealing hidden secrets of engineering genius and inspired design before completing the final picture and capturing the landmarks as they are today.

Each episode in the series concentrates on one building, and explores the surrounding structures whilst obsessing over engineering prowess.
